🏢 General Repairs · Sunbury, Melbourne
Mechanical Repair Center & Mobile Service
Research Phase
Before writing a single line of code, our research agent studied Startamotive Mechanical Repairs — their current website, social presence, reviews, team, and services. Here's what stood out.
RACV-accredited workshop that doubles as a mobile mechanic service — covering an unusually wide territory across the Macedon Ranges and north-west Melbourne corridor including Sunbury, Diggers Rest, Gisborne, Kyneton, Woodend, Riddells Creek, and Plumpton
European vehicle specialists handling BMW, Mercedes, Audi, VW, Land Rover, and Ford alongside general repairs — offering 24 distinct services from minor tune-ups to complex engine overhauls, transmission work, and 4WD servicing
The workshop handles both ends of the complexity spectrum: routine logbook servicing that maintains manufacturer warranty without needing a dealer, through to full engine overhauls, EFI diagnostics, and diesel specialist work — all with mobile capability for roadside assistance
Design Phase
Every design decision was intentional — informed by the research, not pulled from a template library.
Visual Direction
A 6-page site with 9 components featuring a bespoke Car Health Dashboard interactive element. Pages are structured around services, tyres and wheels, gallery, about, and contact. The design uses a Marquee, TestimonialCarousel, animated Counters, and a FloatingCTA to create an engaging experience for a workshop covering 24 service categories.
Design Rationale
Startamotive's dual workshop-and-mobile model serves a regional audience spread across multiple towns in the Macedon Ranges — customers often can't easily visit a workshop. The Car Health Dashboard gives vehicle owners an interactive way to assess their car's maintenance needs before deciding whether to book a workshop visit or request mobile service. The broad 24-service offering needed clear organisation to avoid overwhelming visitors who might only need a logbook service.
Build Phase
Site Architecture
// Next.js App Router
Methodology
Spark (research agent) scraped Startamotive Mechanical Repairs's current website, Google reviews, social media, and business listings. Every piece of real data — team names, service pricing, business hours, unique details — was extracted into a structured profile.
Based on the research, a bespoke design direction was created specifically for Startamotive Mechanical Repairs. No templates — the typography, color palette, layout patterns, and visual effects were all chosen to match this business's personality and industry.
Pixel (design agent) built the entire 6-page Next.js application from scratch — 9 custom components, real content from the research phase, App Router with proper routing, and production-grade code.
Sentinel (QA agent) verified the build compiles cleanly, checked for placeholder content, validated all routes render correctly, and confirmed the design is unique (not recycled from another demo).
Additional Notes
Research was conducted across 4 sources including the official website (startamotive.com.au), logbook service page, and mechanical repairs page. Data completeness rated medium — contact details were truncated during extraction, no Google reviews were accessible due to platform blocks, and no social media data could be scraped. RACV accreditation and the full 24-service list were confirmed from the website.
