Locks, door hardware, and security
Research Phase
Before writing a single line of code, our research agent studied Stan Wootton Locksmiths — their current website, social presence, reviews, team, and services. Here's what stood out.
A Geelong locksmithing legacy spanning 50+ years — Stan Wootton is now retired but the business continues under his daughter Sharon, son-in-law Larry, and grandson Rick McHutchison, who was named Victorian Apprentice of the Year during his apprenticeship
4.4 stars from 78 Google reviews and 4.6 stars from 9 Facebook reviews, with the business operating a combined locksmith and trophies/engraving offering through sister brand Champion Trophies — an unusual dual-trade setup from 172 Malop Street
Beyond traditional lock-and-key, they stock and sell security products including Lockwood Keyless Digital Deadbolts ($299), CCTV systems from Dahua (kits from $82.94 to $645), and commercial-grade door hardware — positioning as a full security solutions provider, not just emergency locksmiths
Design Phase
Every design decision was intentional — informed by the research, not pulled from a template library.
Visual Direction
A 6-page site structured around the four core service verticals — residential, commercial, automotive, and emergency — with 9 components including a bespoke SecurityAssessment interactive tool. The navigation mirrors how customers think about locksmiths: by problem type. Counter animations, a Marquee, and TestimonialCarousel add visual polish to a trust-dependent trade business.
Design Rationale
Locksmith customers are typically in one of two modes: urgent (locked out, broken key) or planned (security upgrade, new locks). The dedicated Emergency page with FloatingCTA addresses the urgent path, while the SecurityAssessment tool engages the planned-upgrade audience — fitting a business that sells digital deadbolts and CCTV alongside traditional locksmithing. The 50+ year family legacy and Master Locksmiths Association membership are trust signals that the design foregrounds.
Build Phase
Site Architecture
// Next.js App Router
Methodology
Spark (research agent) scraped Stan Wootton Locksmiths's current website, Google reviews, social media, and business listings. Every piece of real data — team names, service pricing, business hours, unique details — was extracted into a structured profile.
Based on the research, a bespoke design direction was created specifically for Stan Wootton Locksmiths. No templates — the typography, color palette, layout patterns, and visual effects were all chosen to match this business's personality and industry.
Pixel (design agent) built the entire 6-page Next.js application from scratch — 9 custom components, real content from the research phase, App Router with proper routing, and production-grade code.
Sentinel (QA agent) verified the build compiles cleanly, checked for placeholder content, validated all routes render correctly, and confirmed the design is unique (not recycled from another demo).
Additional Notes
Research drew from 14 sources with high data completeness, including the official website (swlocksmiths.com.au) across multiple service pages, about page for family history and team details, Google Business profile (4.4 stars, 78 reviews, product listings with prices), and Facebook page (4.6 stars, 9 reviews). Google Business product listings revealed the CCTV and digital lock retail side of the business.
