Research Phase
Before writing a single line of code, our research agent studied My Podiatry Clinic — their current website, social presence, reviews, team, and services. Here's what stood out.
4.5 stars on Google with only 2 reviews, yet the clinic has operated at 81 Moreland Road, Coburg for at least 13 years based on review dates — a testament to a word-of-mouth practice that predates the online review era
Three named practitioners (Bree, Sally, and Patrick) identified from Google reviews, with one reviewer specifically praising relief from long-standing feet pain — suggesting a multi-practitioner clinic with continuity of care
Open Wednesday evenings until 7pm but closed Thursdays and weekends — an unusual schedule that suggests the clinic caters to working patients who can't attend during standard business hours
Design Phase
Every design decision was intentional — informed by the research, not pulled from a template library.
Visual Direction
A 6-page site featuring a bespoke FootPainNavigator interactive component that helps patients identify their condition based on pain location before booking. Dedicated pages for orthotics and sports podiatry create SEO-targeting service verticals, while the 9-component build includes an accordion FAQ and testimonial carousel.
Design Rationale
A 13+ year practice with zero web presence needs a site that converts the patients already searching for 'podiatrist Coburg' on Google. The FootPainNavigator serves as a triage tool — patients who can self-identify their issue feel more confident booking, reducing phone enquiry friction for a small clinic with limited admin capacity.
Build Phase
Site Architecture
// Next.js App Router
Methodology
Spark (research agent) scraped My Podiatry Clinic's current website, Google reviews, social media, and business listings. Every piece of real data — team names, service pricing, business hours, unique details — was extracted into a structured profile.
Based on the research, a bespoke design direction was created specifically for My Podiatry Clinic. No templates — the typography, color palette, layout patterns, and visual effects were all chosen to match this business's personality and industry.
Pixel (design agent) built the entire 6-page Next.js application from scratch — 9 custom components, real content from the research phase, App Router with proper routing, and production-grade code.
Sentinel (QA agent) verified the build compiles cleanly, checked for placeholder content, validated all routes render correctly, and confirmed the design is unique (not recycled from another demo).
Additional Notes
Research covered 6 sources with Google Maps as the primary data source — no website, Facebook, or directory listings exist. Data completeness rated low. The clinic is unclaimed on Google Business. Practitioner names were extracted from review text spanning over a decade, confirming long-term operational continuity.
More from the experiment
This case study is part of the AI Web Lab — a 30-day experiment where AI agents build bespoke websites for real Melbourne businesses. Every site is researched, designed, and built from scratch by a team of five specialist AI agents. The full methodology, code, and results are documented transparently.
This study is being prepared for publication as part of a research paper on AI-assisted web development at scale.
