Research Phase
Before writing a single line of code, our research agent studied Gold Dragon Martial Arts Supplies — their current website, social presence, reviews, team, and services. Here's what stood out.
Website (golddragon.com.au) is down and the Facebook page's last post was December 2017 — a business that may be operating primarily through direct club relationships rather than online presence
Not just a retailer but a service partner for martial arts schools — offering embroidery and screen printing customisation for clubs, suggesting deep relationships with Melbourne's martial arts community
Operates from 135 Maroondah Hwy, Ringwood with a separate PO Box (2987), open Monday-Friday 9:30-5:30 and Saturday until 4pm — carries approved brands across uniforms, protective gear, training equipment, books and DVDs
Design Phase
Every design decision was intentional — informed by the research, not pulled from a template library.
Visual Direction
Built as a complete digital presence for a business with no functioning website. The design focuses on product categories and club services, with a structure that showcases the breadth of martial arts supplies — from uniforms and protective gear to training equipment and customisation services.
Design Rationale
Gold Dragon has survived without a website by relying on club relationships and word of mouth, but their expired domain and dormant Facebook mean new customers can't find them online. This demo proves what a modern digital presence could do for a business whose entire customer base — martial arts clubs and students — searches online for equipment and approved brands.
Build Phase
Site Architecture
// Next.js App Router
Methodology
Spark (research agent) scraped Gold Dragon Martial Arts Supplies's current website, Google reviews, social media, and business listings. Every piece of real data — team names, service pricing, business hours, unique details — was extracted into a structured profile.
Based on the research, a bespoke design direction was created specifically for Gold Dragon Martial Arts Supplies. No templates — the typography, color palette, layout patterns, and visual effects were all chosen to match this business's personality and industry.
Pixel (design agent) built the entire 6-page Next.js application from scratch — 8 custom components, real content from the research phase, App Router with proper routing, and production-grade code.
Sentinel (QA agent) verified the build compiles cleanly, checked for placeholder content, validated all routes render correctly, and confirmed the design is unique (not recycled from another demo).
Additional Notes
Research across 8 sources revealed the official website domain is no longer resolving. Data was compiled from Facebook (limited — last post December 2017), Yelp, Yellow Pages, and Chinese Business Guide directory listings. No Google Business listing was found, and the Yelp listing shows 0 visible reviews. The contact email (sam@golddragon.com.au) was sourced from the Facebook page.
