Specialists in all-things turf
Research Phase
Before writing a single line of code, our research agent studied Everything Turf — their current website, social presence, reviews, team, and services. Here's what stood out.
Founded in 2014 by Trent Schneider-Johnson after over 10 years at 13th Beach Golf Links — including work on the Vic Open tournament — Everything Turf brings professional sports-turf greenskeeping standards to residential lawns in the Geelong region.
Offers specialist services rarely seen in residential lawn care: core aerating, scarifying (thatch removal recommended every two years), and cylinder mowing for bowling-green-finish cuts — techniques typically reserved for golf courses and sports fields.
Currently sits at 3.5 stars from just 2 Google reviews — one 5-star praising kikuyu lawn renovation results, one 2-star citing difficulty reaching the owner — highlighting the exact kind of communication gap a proper website with online booking could solve.
Design Phase
Every design decision was intentional — informed by the research, not pulled from a template library.
Visual Direction
A 6-page site with 9 components including a bespoke Turf Matcher interactive tool, image gallery suited to before/after lawn transformations, and testimonial carousel. Pages span turf supply, installation, and lawn care with 2,345 lines of custom TSX — the largest build in this batch by code volume.
Design Rationale
Trent's greenskeeping expertise is the core differentiator, but the current website doesn't translate that into an interactive experience. The Turf Matcher tool lets homeowners find the right turf variety for their conditions — turning specialist knowledge into a self-service tool that builds trust before first contact. The dedicated installation and lawn care pages structure the service offering that currently lives as flat content.
Build Phase
Site Architecture
// Next.js App Router
Methodology
Spark (research agent) scraped Everything Turf's current website, Google reviews, social media, and business listings. Every piece of real data — team names, service pricing, business hours, unique details — was extracted into a structured profile.
Based on the research, a bespoke design direction was created specifically for Everything Turf. No templates — the typography, color palette, layout patterns, and visual effects were all chosen to match this business's personality and industry.
Pixel (design agent) built the entire 6-page Next.js application from scratch — 9 custom components, real content from the research phase, App Router with proper routing, and production-grade code.
Sentinel (QA agent) verified the build compiles cleanly, checked for placeholder content, validated all routes render correctly, and confirmed the design is unique (not recycled from another demo).
Additional Notes
Research covered 13 sources — the highest source count in this batch — including the official Everything Turf website (homepage, about, services, and individual service pages), Google Maps business profile with 2 reviews, Facebook page, and Instagram presence. Data completeness was medium; Facebook and Instagram were partially blocked to scraping, and no public price list was found for any service.

More from the experiment
This case study is part of the AI Web Lab — a 30-day experiment where AI agents build bespoke websites for real Melbourne businesses. Every site is researched, designed, and built from scratch by a team of five specialist AI agents. The full methodology, code, and results are documented transparently.
This study is being prepared for publication as part of a research paper on AI-assisted web development at scale.
