🏢 Business Advisory & Accounting · Collingwood, Melbourne
Chartered Accountants since 1979
Research Phase
Before writing a single line of code, our research agent studied Barassi & Co — their current website, social presence, reviews, team, and services. Here's what stood out.
Founded in 1979 by Ken Barassi (FCA, FCPA, FTI, MAICD) — now in its second generation under son Adam Barassi (FCA), who joined as Partner in 2006 and took over management in 2023, making this a genuine 45+ year family succession story in Melbourne accounting
The firm operated from Chartwell House on Wellington Parade South in East Melbourne for over 28 years before relocating to Collingwood in 2023 — client testimonials on the website reference 10-30+ year partnerships, with the firm's longevity being its core trust signal
A team of 5 including Adam Barassi (Director, part of the firm since 1991), Ken Barassi (Consultant/Founder), Joy Barassi CPA (Consultant), Greg Jarvis CA (Senior Accountant, joined 2004), and Mikhail Velasco (Accountant, joined 2024) — a genuinely family-run operation with three Barassis on the team
Design Phase
Every design decision was intentional — informed by the research, not pulled from a template library.
Visual Direction
A 6-page site with a bespoke Heritage timeline component and a BusinessHealthCheck interactive tool, built across 8 components. The approach page dedicates a full route to explaining the firm's methodology — unusual for an accounting site but fitting for a practice that sells relationships over transactions. The design uses warm, professional tones reflecting the family business identity.
Design Rationale
Barassi & Co's strongest asset is its 45-year story — the Heritage component turns that history into a visual narrative rather than burying it in an About paragraph. The BusinessHealthCheck interactive tool provides immediate value to prospects while the approach page addresses the 'why us?' question that matters most when competing against larger firms on relationship depth.
Build Phase
Site Architecture
// Next.js App Router
Methodology
Spark (research agent) scraped Barassi & Co's current website, Google reviews, social media, and business listings. Every piece of real data — team names, service pricing, business hours, unique details — was extracted into a structured profile.
Based on the research, a bespoke design direction was created specifically for Barassi & Co. No templates — the typography, color palette, layout patterns, and visual effects were all chosen to match this business's personality and industry.
Pixel (design agent) built the entire 6-page Next.js application from scratch — 8 custom components, real content from the research phase, App Router with proper routing, and production-grade code.
Sentinel (QA agent) verified the build compiles cleanly, checked for placeholder content, validated all routes render correctly, and confirmed the design is unique (not recycled from another demo).
Additional Notes
Research covered 7 sources including the official website barassiandco.com.au — homepage (tagline, testimonials), Our Story page (founding history, relocation timeline), Meet the Team page (5 team members with bios and qualifications), and service pages for business advisory, taxation, and SMSF. No Google or Yelp reviews were available without search API access. Yellow Pages was blocked. Data completeness was medium — no street address was visible on the contact page despite the firm confirming a Collingwood location.
