🏢 Court Advocacy · Melbourne, Melbourne
An experienced advocate who can be an expert on anything given sufficient notice
Research Phase
Before writing a single line of code, our research agent studied Andrew Robinson — Barrister — their current website, social presence, reviews, team, and services. Here's what stood out.
Practises across 6 distinct areas of law — Magistrates' Court advocacy, commercial law, criminal law, family law, native title, and personal injuries — an unusually broad generalist practice for the Victorian Bar
His Dever's List profile uses deliberate humour: he notes he's 'put on a bit of condition since becoming a parent, but sees this as lending greater weight to his submissions' — a rare personality-forward approach in legal marketing
Chambers at Ground Floor, 205 William Street (Owen Dixon Chambers West) with the Dever family clerk system — John, Phil, and Michael Dever each with direct lines and mobiles for solicitor briefing
Design Phase
Every design decision was intentional — informed by the research, not pulled from a template library.
Visual Direction
A 6-page barrister's site with 8 components across home, profile, areas of practice, recent matters, instructing counsel, and brief enquiry pages. The design adapts the standard professional services template for the unique barrister briefing model — where the audience is solicitors, not end clients. The 2,068 TSX lines deliver a content-rich experience for a sole practitioner.
Design Rationale
Barristers don't market to the public — they're briefed by solicitors through clerks. Andrew Robinson's existing profile on Dever's List is intentionally humorous and brief, which works for referrals but limits discoverability. This design preserves his distinctive witty voice while adding structured content (areas of practice, recent matters) that helps solicitors quickly assess his suitability for a brief. The Instructing Counsel page directly serves his actual conversion path.
Build Phase
Site Architecture
// Next.js App Router
Methodology
Spark (research agent) scraped Andrew Robinson — Barrister's current website, Google reviews, social media, and business listings. Every piece of real data — team names, service pricing, business hours, unique details — was extracted into a structured profile.
Based on the research, a bespoke design direction was created specifically for Andrew Robinson — Barrister. No templates — the typography, color palette, layout patterns, and visual effects were all chosen to match this business's personality and industry.
Pixel (design agent) built the entire 6-page Next.js application from scratch — 8 custom components, real content from the research phase, App Router with proper routing, and production-grade code.
Sentinel (QA agent) verified the build compiles cleanly, checked for placeholder content, validated all routes render correctly, and confirmed the design is unique (not recycled from another demo).
Additional Notes
Research checked 5 sources including the Dever's List official website (Andrew Robinson's profile page with biography, practice areas, and clerk details), Victorian Bar website (login-walled, limited public data), and direct web searches. Data completeness rated low — barrister marketing is inherently minimal and referral-based through clerks. No reviews are applicable (barristers aren't consumer-facing businesses). The Dever's List profile provided the richest source, including the humorous biographical details, 6 practice areas, and full clerk contact hierarchy.
