🏢 Cuts · Reservoir, Melbourne
Reservoir · Local Business
Research Phase
Before writing a single line of code, our research agent studied All About Hair — their current website, social presence, reviews, team, and services. Here's what stood out.
4.5 stars from 61 Google reviews in Reservoir Village — with stylist Vicky named in multiple reviews for friendly service and skilled cuts, including one reviewer noting 'I loved my haircut and the whole experience'
Located at 2AA Edwardes Street in the Reservoir Village shopping strip with wheelchair-accessible entrance — part of the local traders association, with their Facebook page as their only web presence
Google lists them as 7+ years in business, with Yelp reviewers highlighting affordability: 'Prices are cheap, staff is nice, service is good' — positioning them as the value-friendly neighbourhood salon
Design Phase
Every design decision was intentional — informed by the research, not pulled from a template library.
Visual Direction
A 6-page salon site with 9 components across home, about, services, colour, gallery, and contact pages. The bespoke Hair Quiz interactive component helps clients identify their hair type and get personalised service recommendations — a digital consultation tool for a salon that relies on walk-ins and word-of-mouth.
Design Rationale
All About Hair operates entirely through Facebook and foot traffic in the Reservoir Village strip — no website at all. This design gives them a proper online home while preserving their approachable, community-oriented identity. The Hair Quiz creates digital engagement that mirrors the friendly in-salon consultation experience reviewers praise, and the dedicated colour page targets their most complex (and highest-value) service category.
Build Phase
Site Architecture
// Next.js App Router
Methodology
Spark (research agent) scraped All About Hair's current website, Google reviews, social media, and business listings. Every piece of real data — team names, service pricing, business hours, unique details — was extracted into a structured profile.
Based on the research, a bespoke design direction was created specifically for All About Hair. No templates — the typography, color palette, layout patterns, and visual effects were all chosen to match this business's personality and industry.
Pixel (design agent) built the entire 6-page Next.js application from scratch — 9 custom components, real content from the research phase, App Router with proper routing, and production-grade code.
Sentinel (QA agent) verified the build compiles cleanly, checked for placeholder content, validated all routes render correctly, and confirmed the design is unique (not recycled from another demo).
Additional Notes
Research checked 6 sources including Google Maps (rating, review count, accessibility info, 7+ years badge), Google Search (email, Instagram handle, review snippets), Facebook page, Instagram (@allabouthair.reservoir), Yelp search results, and Reservoir Village traders association posts. Data completeness rated medium — no official website exists (Facebook is their listed website). Hours were partially confirmed from Google Maps but the widget couldn't be fully expanded. No service pricing was found online.
