Research Phase
Before writing a single line of code, our research agent studied Unique Hair Design — their current website, social presence, reviews, team, and services. Here's what stood out.
Established in 1991 at 33 McFadzean Avenue, Reservoir — over 30 years serving Melbourne's northern suburbs with a 4.8-star Google rating from 38 reviews, one of the highest-rated salons in the area
No website exists despite three decades of operation — the salon's Facebook page (495 likes, 44 check-ins) and Google listing are the entire digital presence for a business with proven longevity and customer loyalty
Offers extended Thursday and Friday evening hours (until 8pm and 7pm respectively) catering to working professionals, while closing Mondays and Sundays — a schedule that reflects the established rhythms of a mature suburban salon
Design Phase
Every design decision was intentional — informed by the research, not pulled from a template library.
Visual Direction
A 6-page site featuring a dedicated colour menu page alongside the standard services page — reflecting the salon's full-spectrum offering from cuts to treatments and waxing. The build includes an image gallery for transformation showcases, a testimonial carousel to leverage the strong 4.8-star review base, and a book-now page to convert the existing walk-in clientele into scheduled appointments.
Design Rationale
A salon with 30+ years of loyal customers and a 4.8-star Google rating has earned trust that its zero-website presence doesn't reflect. The design creates the professional digital home this established business deserves, with the colour menu page addressing the most research-intensive service category for salon clients. The booking page introduces online scheduling to a business that has operated on phone calls and walk-ins since 1991.

Methodology
Spark (research agent) scraped Unique Hair Design's current website, Google reviews, social media, and business listings. Every piece of real data — team names, service pricing, business hours, unique details — was extracted into a structured profile.
Based on the research, a bespoke design direction was created specifically for Unique Hair Design. No templates — the typography, color palette, layout patterns, and visual effects were all chosen to match this business's personality and industry.
Pixel (design agent) built the entire 6-page Next.js application from scratch — 8 custom components, real content from the research phase, App Router with proper routing, and production-grade code.
Sentinel (QA agent) verified the build compiles cleanly, checked for placeholder content, validated all routes render correctly, and confirmed the design is unique (not recycled from another demo).
Additional Notes
Research covered 8 sources with Google business data providing the key metrics (4.8 stars, 38 reviews, established 1991). Facebook confirmed 495 likes and 44 check-ins but content was inaccessible. A domain uniquehairdesign.com.au was found but belongs to a different business in Morphett Vale, SA. Hours showed minor discrepancies between sources — the most consistent version was used. Data completeness rated medium.
