🏢 Colour · Sunbury, Melbourne
Skilled & up to date hairdressers
Research Phase
Before writing a single line of code, our research agent studied Head Over Heels Hairdressing — their current website, social presence, reviews, team, and services. Here's what stood out.
4.5 stars from 57 Google reviews with staff members Porsche, Jade, Sylvia, Jamie, and Robyn frequently mentioned by name — indicating the kind of personal stylist-client relationships that drive repeat business in suburban salons
Self-described 'Balayage specialists, colour enthusiasts & latest cuts' — they've carved a colour-focused niche in Sunbury and offer late-night appointments on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 8pm for working clients
Located on Melba Avenue in the heart of Sunbury with no website — only a Facebook page and Fresha booking platform — yet has built a loyal enough client base that customers bring family members
Design Phase
Every design decision was intentional — informed by the research, not pulled from a template library.
Visual Direction
A 6-page site with 9 components including a dedicated Balayage Specialist page and a bespoke Balayage Outcome Board interactive component. The lookbook page showcases colour work, while the team page highlights the five stylists clients already know by name. The accordion organises the 11 service categories from Fresha.
Design Rationale
Head Over Heels positions itself on balayage and colour expertise, so the design leads with that specialty rather than treating it as one service among many. The dedicated balayage page and interactive Outcome Board help potential clients visualise results — solving the problem of a salon with strong word-of-mouth but no visual portfolio online.
Build Phase
Site Architecture
// Next.js App Router
Methodology
Spark (research agent) scraped Head Over Heels Hairdressing's current website, Google reviews, social media, and business listings. Every piece of real data — team names, service pricing, business hours, unique details — was extracted into a structured profile.
Based on the research, a bespoke design direction was created specifically for Head Over Heels Hairdressing. No templates — the typography, color palette, layout patterns, and visual effects were all chosen to match this business's personality and industry.
Pixel (design agent) built the entire 6-page Next.js application from scratch — 9 custom components, real content from the research phase, App Router with proper routing, and production-grade code.
Sentinel (QA agent) verified the build compiles cleanly, checked for placeholder content, validated all routes render correctly, and confirmed the design is unique (not recycled from another demo).
Additional Notes
Research covered 8 sources including Google Business Profile (4.5 stars, 57 reviews), Fresha booking platform, Birdeye, and Wheree directory. No official website exists. Facebook was blocked, Instagram couldn't be scraped. No pricing data was found — Fresha lists categories but not prices. Team names were pieced together from review mentions. Data completeness rated medium.
