Remaining statewide dates
The current Business Victoria calendar lists these remaining 2026 public holidays:

Melbourne Cup Day is a public holiday across Victoria unless a non-metropolitan council has arranged an alternate local holiday. That exception does not change the Melbourne date.
A public holiday is not a venue timetable
The government calendar confirms the holiday date. It does not confirm that a particular cafe, attraction, supermarket, market or transport service will operate at a specific time.
Christmas Day is a restricted trading day in Victoria, but individual exemptions and service arrangements still need to be checked with the relevant operator. Avoid using a generic holiday guide as proof that a particular business will be open.
Before making a plan
- Confirm the date on the Business Victoria 2026 holiday page.
- Open the first-party page for the venue or service you intend to use.
- Recheck transport and bookings close to the day.
- Keep a second option when the plan depends on holiday trading.
This entry intentionally omits venue lists and predicted opening hours. Those claims expire much faster than the official calendar.
